Rutledge DuRant is a trial lawyer who represents those who have been personally injured as well as those who have been criminally accused. He is a former prosecutor, a former assistant attorney general for the South Carolina attorney general, and a former assistant solicitor and trial team leader in the 9th Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office in Charleston, South Carolina. Rutledge has obtained favorable results for clients as an advocate at trial before numerous juries as both a prosecutor and a criminal defense attorney, and advocate for the injured. He has also obtained favorable results for numerous clients outside of the courtroom.
As a prosecutor, Rutledge led and advised a trial team of approximately 10 prosecutors on crimes such as driving under the influence (DUI), drug trafficking, criminal sexual conduct (CSC), criminal domestic violence (CDV), assault and battery with intent to kill, and murder.
Since 2013, Rutledge has pursued a practice as a personal injury lawyer while defending the criminally accused. He has successfully helped numerous people recover money damages for injuries caused by others. These damage awards have ranged from thousands of dollars to hundreds of thousands of dollars via settlement and trial.
