In Memoriam: 1942 \u2013 2019<\/p>\n<\/div>[vc_empty_space height=”6px”][vc_empty_space height=”30px”][vc_column_text]Fred Riesen was a partner at Riesen DuRant, LLC. Previously, he was the senior member and founding member of Riesen Law Firm, LLP.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”480072″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_empty_space height=”15px”][vc_column_text]Fred was a founding member of the Injured Workers Association. He served as a member of the executive board, vice president, and president of the South Carolina Workers\u2019 Advocates (IWA). For 45 years, Fred represented injured workers until his passing in 2019.<\/p>\n

He was a member of the Charleston County Bar (former member of the American Bar Association for over 30 years); South Carolina Bar, and the South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association. He was on the Citizen Committee of the Judicial Merit Selection Commission from its inception in 1996 and which went into effect July 1, 1997. For 18 years he assisted with evaluating the qualifications and characters of candidates for judicial office in the State of South Carolina.<\/p>\n

During his spare time, he participated in numerous activities and found enjoyment in shrimping, fishing, boating, gardening, skiing, dancing, barbecuing, and working out.<\/p>\n

Fred was a strong believer in giving back to the community. For many years, Fred volunteered to feed the homeless. He swam several times a week and was a huge supporter of the Lowcountry Splash.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”40px”]\n\n\t
